The Student Conference of the Hanse Innovation Campus Lübeck
05. - 07. March 2025
The 14th annual student conference is held from March 05-07 of 2025. Graduate students at master's level, studying technical fields at the University and the University of Applied Sciences of Lübeck will present their research findings from projects, intern semesters, and theses performed at universities, hospitals, international research institutes, and companies. The topics of the student conference reflect the broad spectrum of the participating study programs and the diverse research topics in which the students are involved. The students' contributions thereby span the interface of medicine, science and technology, with the goal of modern medical and technological development that focuses on people with their individual needs and their self-determined responsibility for their own health. Results will be published in the conference proceedings.
Students submit their research findings as a four-page technical paper, written in English. Professor Thorsten M. Buzug, one of the scientific directors of the conference, explains the assessment procedure, "These submissions are subject to review by the program committee, after which they are released for publishing in the conference proceedings." Professor Buzug explains further, "During the conference, students are assessed by their colleagues, who, with the help of evaluation criteria, determine the winners for the lecture awards."
The conference is structured along two main focuses. On the first day, students present their research findings in poster sessions. A jury finally selects the best posters, which are awarded with a poster award at the end of the conference.
The second aim of the conference is for students to present their research projects in plenary sessions. Company representatives and others who are interested are invited to attend these lectures to gain insight into the current research topics being explored at the universities.
The Student Conference of the Hanse Innovation Campus Lübeck is organized by the Institute of Medical Engineering, the Institute of Medical Informatics, the Institute of Signal Processing, the Institute of Electrical Engineering in Medicine, the Institute of Physics and the Institute of Psychology I at the University of Lübeck and the Medical Sensors and Devices Laboratory of the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences.
